16 TTP terrorists neutralized in Punjab and K-P regions.

Security Forces Eliminate 16 Terrorists in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Operations

MIANWALI / WAZIRISTAN – Pakistani security forces killed at least 16 terrorists in separate counter-terrorism operations in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) on Monday, dealing a major blow to militant networks operating in the region.

Key Operations:

  1. Mianwali, Punjab – 10 Terrorists Killed

    • joint operation by Punjab Police, CTD, and Rangers targeted a TTP hideout in the Makarwal area (near Karak district).

    • Forces engaged in intermittent firefights, killing 10+ terrorists and injuring several others.

    • One civilian was injured and hospitalized; no security personnel casualties reported.

    • Punjab CM Maryam Nawaz and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised the forces, calling it a “significant success.”

  2. North & South Waziristan – 6 Terrorists Killed

    • Five terrorists were eliminated in an IBO in Razmak, North Waziristan.

    • TTP ringleader Zabi Ullah (Zakran)—wanted for attacks on security forces and civilians—was killed in South Waziristan.

    • Sanitization operations continue to clear remaining threats.

Leadership’s Response:

  • President Asif Zardari & PM Shehbaz Sharif commended the forces, vowing to “root out terrorism.”

  • Punjab IGP Dr. Usman Anwar declared the operation a “brilliant success,” warning terrorists that “nefarious plans will be crushed.”

  • Interior Minister Naqvi called it a “powerful message to anti-state elements.”

Why It Matters:

  • The operations mark a major crackdown on TTP’s resurgence in border regions.

  • Growing coordination between police, CTD, and military signals a stronger counter-terror strategy.

  • The killings of high-value targets (like Zabi Ullah) disrupt terrorist leadership.

What’s Next?

  • Will TTP retaliate? (Past attacks followed major losses.)

  • Will operations expand to other militant hotspots?

  • Can Pakistan sustain pressure to prevent regrouping?

The Bottom Line:

Pakistan’s security forces have struck a decisive blow against terrorism, showcasing improved intelligence and operational synergy. However, the long-term challenge remains dismantling terror networks completely—a task requiring continued vigilance and public support.
