Gas Leak Causes Fire, Injures Family in Faisalabad
Seven members of a family suffered critical burns after a fire broke out in their house in Chak 66 JB Dhandhra on Jhang Road, Faisalabad. The incident occurred during breakfast preparation when a gas leak from an LPG cylinder ignited. Rescue 1122 transported the injured to the burn unit of Allied Hospital. The victims include Qasim Ali, 40, his son Muhammad Ali, 2, his mother Shamim Bibi, 60, his sister Amna Bibi, 25, and three relatives—Kalshoom Bibi, 50, Fehmida Bibi, 37, and Arifa Bibi, 26.
Teenager Gang-Raped in Khurrianwala
In a disturbing incident in Khurrianwala, Faisalabad, a 16-year-old boy was gang-raped by two suspects. Police reported that the accused lured the boy to farmland, assaulted him, and filmed the act. One suspect has been arrested, while raids are ongoing to apprehend the accomplice.
Attempted Assault on Minor in Faisalabad
In another incident in Ghulam Muhammad Abad, Faisalabad, a youth attempted to assault a seven-year-old child. The minor was playing with neighborhood children when the suspect overpowered him and tried to rape him. The child raised an alarm, prompting the suspect to flee, leaving the child naked. Police later arrested the accused.
Seminar on Interfaith Harmony Held at GCUF
The Department of Islamic Studies at Government College University Faisalabad (GCUF), in collaboration with the Punjab Government’s Department of Human Rights and Minority Affairs and an NGO, organized a seminar titled ‘Interfaith Harmony in Pakistani Society: Challenges and Prospects’. Dr. Rauf emphasized that social harmony is often exploited for personal, political, and economic gains. He highlighted the seminar’s role in promoting moderation, tolerance, and mutual respect. Speakers discussed challenges and opportunities for interfaith harmony, stressing the importance of academic and literary contributions to foster mutual understanding.
Couple Killed in Tractor Trolley Accident
A couple died, and their female pillion rider was injured when a tractor trolley ran over their motorcycle on Tandlianwala-Sahiwal Road. The deceased, Abdul Qayyum, 23, and his wife, Manahil, 20, were returning to Chak 450 GB from Sahiwal after visiting relatives. Their cousin, Rehana Bibi, 25, was also injured. The accident occurred near Majeed Chowk when their motorcycle collided with another bike, causing them to fall. A tractor trolley then ran over them, killing the couple instantly. Rehana was taken to Kanjwani Rural Health Centre for treatment.
