Arshad Nadeem Returns to the Track for Asian Athletics Championships 2025
Pakistani javelin sensation Arshad Nadeem is preparing for his long-awaited return to international competition, marking his first event since securing gold at the Paris 2024 Olympics. Nadeem will be competing in the 26th Asian Athletics Championships, set to be held in South Korea, where over 2,000 athletes from 43 countries are participating.
In a video message posted to his Instagram Stories on May 29, 2025, the star athlete shared his excitement and called on fans to support him. “I am competing tomorrow in [South] Korea at 6:15am Pakistan Time,” he stated, requesting prayers as he aims to qualify for the finals.
Aiming for Another Medal After Olympic Glory
This event marks Nadeem’s first international appearance since his record-breaking Olympic performance last year. At the Paris 2024 Games, he captured global attention by setting a new Olympic record of 92.97 meters, winning the gold medal in men’s javelin throw and making history for Pakistan.
Nadeem revealed that if he qualifies, the final will take place on May 31 at 1:10pm PKT. “Please pray so that I can qualify for the finals and then secure the medal to make Pakistan proud once again,” he told his supporters.
Looking Ahead to the World Championships in England
Following the Asian Athletics Championships, Arshad Nadeem is expected to head to England for intensive training ahead of the World Athletics Championships, which are scheduled for September 2025.
His return to competition is not only symbolic of his personal journey but also a source of national pride, as he continues to represent Pakistan on the global athletics stage.
