Two Brothers Die While Stealing Oil from Parco Pipeline in Muzaffargarh

MUZAFFARGARH: Two brothers lost their lives while attempting to steal oil from the Pak-Arab Refinery (Parco) pipeline in the Pati Jhandir area, under the jurisdiction of Sananwan Police Station on Saturday.

Incident Details:

  • The victims had dug a tunnel to install a stolen clamp on the Parco pipeline.

  • While working inside the tunnel, they got trapped under the mud and suffocated to death.

  • Rescue teams and police retrieved their bodies from the deep tunnel.

Investigation & Response:

  • One of the deceased was identified as Abdul Ghafoor (38), a resident of Pati Ghulam Ali, while details of his 35-year-old brother remain unknown.

  • Parco officers arrived at the site, and the bodies were shifted to Tehsil Headquarters Hospital, Kot Addu for post-mortem.

  • Officials noted that pipeline theft is a recurring issue, with culprits often receiving minor punishments and fines, despite stealing oil worth millions of rupees.

  • A young man died after a fire erupted in his grocery shop on Kot Addu Road near Mahmood Kot.

  • The shop contained a petrol unit, which likely fueled the fire.

  • Rescue 1122 and police controlled the blaze, with initial investigations suggesting a short circuit as the cause.

  • The victim, who remains unidentified, was trapped inside as the flames spread.
