New renders of the upcoming iPhone 17 Air have leaked, offering a fresh look at what could be Apple’s next model. These images, shared by Jon Prosser from FrontPageTech, suggest that Apple might be planning to offer a different design for the upcoming iPhone 17 Air.
One of the most noticeable features shown in the renders is the rear camera setup. Unlike Apple’s other models that come with multiple rear cameras, the iPhone 17 Air will reportedly feature a single (48-megapixel) rear camera housed in a wide, rectangular camera bar. Surprisingly, the rear module is quite prominent despite housing only one camera at the back. But, this is just a render and not an official image, so users are advised to take the fresh design details with a pinch of salt. Also, it is worth pointing out that this design contrasts with earlier reports, which suggested a top-centred camera placement. Despite the difference, the new design could offer a fresh look for the iPhone series.
Additionally, this is not the first time Apple is experimenting with a new iPhone model. While its standard, Pro and Pro Max iPhone versions have mostly worked for the brand, Apple’s earlier attempts at the iPhone mini and iPhone Plus models haven’t been hugely successful. With the iPhone 17 Air, Apple might be aiming for a standout device with a distinctive, ultra-slim design, even if it means sacrificing some high-end features. As per leaks, we are likely to witness the launch of the new iPhone Air smartphone at Apple’s 2025 iPhone 17 event, which is expected to take place in September.
