Three Shot Dead in Alleged Revenge Killing by Dacoits in Rahim Yar Khan
RAHIM YAR KHAN: Three people were shot dead in an apparent revenge attack by dacoits in Jamaldin Wali, tehsil Sadiqabad, near the Indus River, approximately 60 km from Rahim Yar Khan, on Saturday noon.
Incident Details:
-
The victims, identified as Umar Lund and his two nephews, Huzaifa Lund and Khalid Dhanwani, were passing through Shahpur Bazaar when they were ambushed near Dodhay Wali Pulli.
-
The assailants, believed to be accomplices of deceased YouTuber dacoit Shahid Lund, opened fire, killing all three on the spot.
Possible Motive: Revenge Killing
-
According to local sources, Umar Lund had allegedly killed Shahid Lund during a Lund clan gathering in November 2024.
-
In a video message, two accomplices of Shahid Lund claimed responsibility for the attack, stating they had avenged his murder.
-
The video, filmed in the Katcha area, showed the dacoits holding a G3 rifle belonging to Umar Lund.
Response & Law Enforcement Action:
-
The incident has left residents in shock, as criminals continue to operate boldly in rural areas.
-
Rahim Yar Khan District Police Officer (DPO) Rizwan Umar Gondal took notice of the attack and deployed a heavy police contingent to the region.
-
Police are investigating other possible motives, including a suspected honour-related dispute (Karo-Kari) involving Huzaifa Lund.
Context & Security Concerns:
-
Jamaldin Wali is the hometown of PPP South Punjab President Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood.
-
PPP MPA Mumtaz Chang has repeatedly raised concerns in the Punjab Assembly about the deteriorating law and order situation in the district.
-
Last week, police killed several dacoits near Katcha Machka, who were involved in attacks on policemen.
This brazen attack highlights the ongoing lawlessness in the Katcha region, where dacoit groups operate with impunity. The revenge-driven violence and rising insecurity demand urgent police action to restore order in the area.
