After a gap of more than five years, Pakistan’s national airline resumed its direct flight service from Islamabad to Manchester, receiving a warm and emotional welcome upon arrival.
According to Observer Guardian, Pakistan International Airlines flight PK-701 landed at Manchester Airport after a hiatus of five years and three months, where hundreds gathered to greet the aircraft and its passengers with enthusiasm and patriotic spirit.
The welcoming crowd included the Consul General of Pakistan in Manchester, members of the British Parliament, local business leaders, and a large number of British citizens of Pakistani origin. The airport echoed with chants of “Long Live Pakistan” as the flight touched down, creating an atmosphere of celebration and pride.
Observer Guardian reported that passengers were greeted with flowers, garlands, and gifts as they exited the terminal, while many described the moment as deeply emotional, symbolizing a renewed connection between Pakistan and its overseas community in the United Kingdom.
Passengers expressed their appreciation during interviews, noting that they were provided with excellent service and a warm, homelike atmosphere throughout the flight.
