Pakistan Day Celebrated with Military Parade, Calls for National Unity
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan marked Pakistan Day on Sunday, March 23, with a grand military parade at Aiwan-e-Sadr, commemorating the Lahore Resolution of 1940—a historic milestone in the nation’s struggle for independence.
Military Parade and Celebrations
The day began with a 31-gun salute in Islamabad and 21-gun salutes in provincial capitals. Special prayers were offered after Fajr, seeking the nation’s progress and prosperity.
For the first time, the Pakistan Day parade was held at Aiwan-e-Sadr instead of its usual venue at Shakarparian parade ground. President Asif Ali Zardari was the chief guest, joined by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, military chiefs, and other dignitaries.
