Sana Mir makes history as first Pakistani woman cricketer to make ICC Hall of Fame. She took the top spot in women’s one-day international rankings in 2018 and helmed the team that took home gold from the 2010 and 2014 Asian Games. Her rise dovetailed with the growth in sporting opportunities for Pakistani women, who were not allowed to play in open fields until the early 2000s.

With a background rooted in journalism and academia, I’ve spent the past several years exploring how media shapes minds and societies. Currently pursuing a PhD in Mass Communication at Government College University Faisalabad, following an MPhil in the same field, I’ve published research on critical issues ranging from women’s empowerment and social media's impact on youth to cybersecurity and digital awareness. My hands-on experience as a News Editor at Aghaz-e-Sehar and a council member of the Faisalabad Press Club.
