Pakistan Security Forces Eliminate 16 Terrorists at Afghan Border

Pakistan’s security forces have neutralized 16 terrorists attempting to infiltrate the country from Afghanistan, the military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), confirmed on Sunday.

Border Clash in North Waziristan

The incident took place on the night of March 22-23, when security forces detected a group of armed militants attempting to cross into Pakistan near Ghulam Khan Kallay in North Waziristan.

“Pakistani forces effectively engaged and thwarted their attempt to infiltrate. After an intense exchange of fire, all 16 militants were eliminated,” the ISPR stated.

Call for Stronger Afghan Border Security

Pakistan has repeatedly urged Afghanistan’s interim government to enhance border security and prevent militant groups from using Afghan soil for cross-border attacks.

“The interim Afghan government is expected to fulfill its obligations and deny the use of its territory by militants,” the ISPR emphasized.

Commitment to Counterterrorism

The ISPR reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces remain fully committed to securing the nation’s borders and combating terrorism.

Key Points:

  • 16 terrorists neutralized in an infiltration attempt from Afghanistan.

  • The clash occurred near Ghulam Khan Kallay in North Waziristan on March 22-23.

  • Pakistan calls on Afghanistan to strengthen border security to prevent further incursions.
