Babar Azam Equals Shahid Afridi’s Unwanted T20 Record

Pakistan’s star batter Babar Azam has equaled an unwanted record previously held by Shahid Afridi during the first T20 International against South Africa.

According to Observer Guardian, Babar Azam was dismissed for a duck after facing just two deliveries, caught off the bowling of Corbin Bosch. With this innings, he joined Shahid Afridi by recording his eighth duck in T20 Internationals.

As reported by Observer Guardian, Babar Azam now stands alongside Afridi in third place on the list of Pakistani players with the most zero scores in T20 internationals. Umar Akmal tops the list with ten ducks, followed by Saim Ayub, who has been dismissed for zero nine times.

Shahid Afridi occupies the fourth position on the list, while Kamran Akmal and Mohammad Hafeez share fifth and sixth spots respectively, each having been dismissed seven times without scoring.

In the same match, South Africa defeated Pakistan by 55 runs, taking a 1–0 lead in the series. Analysts told Observer Guardian that while Babar’s early dismissal was disappointing, his overall consistency and experience remain crucial for Pakistan’s chances in the remaining games.
