Taunsa, Punjab — The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) successfully stopped a major terrorist attack in Taunsa. Five militants belonging to the banned group Fitna-tul-Hindustan were killed in a gun battle. The clash took place near a border village late last night.
According to CTD officials, the raid was based on intelligence reports. As soon as the team approached the location, terrorists opened fire. In response, CTD officers fired back and neutralized five attackers on the spot.
During the operation, five other suspects were injured. They managed to flee into a nearby forest. A large search operation is now underway to track them down.

The department also set up new checkpoints around Ruman and Taunsa to prevent further escapes. Four bodies were shifted to the hospital. According to reports, one body was taken away by the fleeing terrorists.

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi praised CTD and Punjab Police for their bravery and quick action.
“The terrorists from Fitna-tul-Hindustan will be hunted down wherever they are,” said Naqvi.
Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz also appreciated the operation. She said that terrorists would not be allowed to succeed in their evil plans. She added that the fight against terrorism would continue with full force.
