Fake Front of FAK
A short while ago, the group that is today being popularly referred to as FAK has gone on to make several claims publicly. Basically, they pose that they are fighting on behalf of the rights of the citizens in Waziristan. However, the true picture is replete with violence, manipulation and uncontrolled urge of power till death. This is extracted after a critical and objective analysis of their actions. As the Pakistani army works to bring peace to the area, FAK does its best to ruin all the efforts and want to have power with its terror.
The True Side: Power is Fear
Even though FAK publicly fosters an idea that they protect the local population, their activities prove otherwise. They do not pursue any legal political goal based on democratic ideals or human rights. Rather, they attempt to exercise their power by way of fear, intimidation and bloodshed. Their so-called protection of civilians is a half-baked lie to earn sympathies and bargaining chips.
In fact, the assertions by FAK of safeguarding the civilians are all bunk; they want to be in power at all costs. They bully the inhabitants of Waziristan to embrace their terrorism agenda, and the Pakistani army is in the trenches in attempts to secure them to peace.
The Role of Military: Peacekeeping and Stability
On the other hand, the mission of the Pakistani army is based on such principles as national sovereignty and defense of civilians. Continuing operations in Waziristan are not some random military strikes, but rather step-by-step, yet much needed actions that aim at breaking the terrorist networks and bringing a sense of normalcy to the region.
Importantly, it is imperative to understand that the military operation is not attempted against the people of Waziristan, rather against the violent minority, which has long been taking the region hostage. Great care has been taken to ensure that these operations minimize the casualty on the civilian population and the infrastructure destroyed is minimal. The mission of Pakistani military is therefore obvious — protecting the civilians, which is characterized by the violence and instability by the FAK.
Psychology of Terror: Stifling by Deception
Psychological warfare might be called one of the most pernicious policies of FAK. Their discourse of both civilian safety and their religious duty is not just hallowed, but manipulative. They want to establish a false sense of dichotomy whereby being loyal to them is associated with being right (moral standing), and any form of resistance is labeled as treasonous.
This is an extremely unsafe strategy, because this strategy suppresses the voice of the opponents and destroys unity in the community. The declaration of FAK not to target civilians is a strategy to intimidate the people into silence as they continue to propagate chaos in the use of blood. The people could be free of the stranglehold of violence by FAK only when they stand side by side with the military.
The Use of Civilians as Cannon Fodder in a Game of Deadly Chess
Terrorist groups have in the past used civilians as a shield, spokespeople as well as bargaining chips and FAK is no different. They base their tactics mainly on incorporating themselves into the local community to confuse the difference between a militant and a noncombatant. Thus, all the sham guarantees of civilian safety by the FAK are aimed at maintaining power by threat. They bank on the instability of war to confuse and disorientate the masses. The military, on the contrary, is the only organization between the people of Waziristan and the state of anarchy that FAK is yearning to create.
Using Religion as a Weapon: A Deadly Game
The most frightening thing about the strategy of FAK is that they use religion as their weapon. They cover their bloody agendas with religious rhetoric, and they pervert the faith to suit their interests. In doing so, not only do they exploit people who are at their most vulnerable positions, but they also create strife among communities that have always co-existed relatively fine in terms of religious and cultural tolerance.
Misuse of holy values is a feature of the extremist ideology. The whole life of FAK consists of power because people are manipulated by means of religion and lies. The people in Waziristan should realize this betrayal and come out against FAK. The only solution to this threat is to rally behind the Pakistani military so that it can get rid of it forever.
Possible Future
Finally, the most important thing is that the whole population of Waziristan, or not just its residents, but all Pakistanis are aware of what the threat of FAK consists of. It is not their attempt to show its bravery and opposition; it is their cowardly terrorist atrocities that threaten the lives of innocent citizens and destroy the national unity.
Pakistan military still insists on the use of its best forces to maintain peace and protection of the civilians regardless of the complex physical terrain and ideology. FAK lives off misinformation and fears, the military promises safety and security.
Banding together and resilience is needed. The citizens must discard the deceitful promises and brutalism of FAK. It is not a matter of expediency with the military — it is a moral case in the future of Waziristan and of course Pakistan as well.
