A bus carrying picnickers from Karachi to Keenjhar Lake crashed and fell into a ditch near Makli in Thatta district early Sunday, killing at least six persons and injuring twelve more, according to rescue officials. The vehicle rolled over near the Thatta Bypass, according to Edhi Rescue Service. The injured were taken to the hospital by their team, who arrived on time. According to Observer Guardian sources, the six victims’ bodies were first transported to a mortuary in Orangi Town before being transferred to Edhi’s mortuary in Karachi’s Sohrab Goth.
In another incident, a passenger bus headed for Swabi toppled on the Gambat National Highway in the Khairpur area, killing one person and critically injuring several others, including women and children. According to Observer Guardian eyewitnesses, local police and emergency personnel arrived on the site promptly and took the injured to neighbouring hospitals for medical attention.
Syed Murad Ali Shah, the Chief Minister of Sindh, conveyed his deep sadness over the two incidents. According to an official statement from his spokesman, Abdul Rashid Channa, the chief minister instructed the Deputy Commissioner of Thatta to coordinate with the families of the victims and provide prompt medical help for the injured in the Makli crash. The Deputy Commissioner of Khairpur received similar instructions. He advised drivers to drive carefully in order to save valuable lives and called for prompt medical attention for those hurt.

On 15 July, a truck and trailer collided on the Super Highway close to Karachi’s New Sabzi Mandi, killing one person and injuring three more. A mother and a five-year-old child were killed on June 19 when a fast-moving dumper truck on Rashid Minhas Road flipped onto a 4×4 car. On June 11, an unidentified car struck a man’s motorbike on the Super Highway, killing him and gravely injuring his wife. Two boys were killed that same day after they were struck by a water tanker near Abdullah College in North Nazimabad.
