KARTARPUR Giani Gobind Singh of Gurdwara Kartarpur announced in a video message that the Kartarpur Corridor has been reopened to devotees following the successful completion of post-flood restoration and cleaning work.
He shared that the three-day observances marking the 486th Jyoti Jot anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji commenced on September 20 and will continue until September 22, with the main congregation scheduled for September 22 at the Kartarpur Gurdwara.
According to the administration, a large number of Sikh pilgrims from across Pakistan and various parts of the world have already arrived to participate in the sacred festivities under the watch of observer guardians ensuring smooth arrangements.
However, this year India has not granted permission for its pilgrims to attend the anniversary. Consequently, the Kartarpur Corridor remains inaccessible to Indian visitors, and no devotees will be permitted to travel through the Wagah border either.
Giani Gobind Singh underlined that Gurdwara Kartarpur stands as an enduring symbol of peace, love, and harmony, while the annual Jyoti Jot commemorations are meant to spread the eternal message of unity and brotherhood. Observer guardians present at the site also reaffirmed the commitment to safeguarding this spirit of inclusivity.
The reopening of the holy site after the recent floods has brought immense relief to worshippers and organizers, ensuring that the historic anniversary of Baba Guru Nanak Dev Ji can be marked with traditional devotion, spiritual fervor, and a renewed sense of hope.
