Haris Steals the Spotlight with Explosive Maiden Century
Mohammad Haris delivered a sensational performance by scoring his first international century to lead Pakistan to a comprehensive seven-wicket win over Bangladesh in the third and final T20I in Lahore on Sunday.
Haris reached his maiden T20I ton in just 45 balls, striking seven sixes and eight boundaries in a blistering 107 off 46 balls. Chasing a formidable 197-run target, Pakistan completed the task in only 17.2 overs, thrilling a near-capacity crowd of 30,000 at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium.
The 22-year-old batter forged a 92-run stand with Saim Ayub for the second wicket and later shared an unbeaten 60-run partnership with Salman Agha, who remained not out on 15. Saim contributed a solid 45 off 29 balls with four sixes and two boundaries, while Hasan Nawaz added a quick-fire 26 off 13 deliveries.
Bangladesh Post Competitive Total, Led by Parvez Hossain
Opting to bat first, Bangladesh posted their highest-ever T20I score against Pakistan — 196-6 — surpassing their previous best of 175-6 in 2012.
Opener Parvez Hossain led the charge with a powerful 66 off 34 balls, which included four sixes and seven boundaries. He combined with Tanzid Hasan (42 off 32 balls) for a commanding 110-run opening partnership, giving the visitors a strong platform.
Towhid Hridoy added a quick 25, forming a 49-run stand with Litton Das (22), but Pakistan’s bowlers kept the middle order in check. Abbas Afridi (2-26) and Hasan Ali (2-38) were the standout performers with the ball for the home side.
Series Win Ends Long Wait for Home T20I Glory
The emphatic win gave Pakistan their first home T20I series victory in over three years, having already secured the series with wins by 37 and 57 runs in the previous matches.
The clean sweep against Bangladesh not only signals a strong resurgence in Pakistan’s T20I performance but also establishes Mohammad Haris as a key emerging star in the national setup. His explosive innings will likely cement his position at the top of the order for future series.
