Mohsin Naqvi Orders Quick Finalization of New PSL Deals

Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has directed officials to finalize the new agreements with Pakistan Super League franchises as soon as possible, signaling the completion of a major phase in the league’s long-term restructuring.

According to Observer Guardian, preparations for the new ten-year PSL franchise contracts are in their final stages. Representatives from the league’s chartered valuation firm recently met with Chairman Mohsin Naqvi to present the latest financial and structural assessment report.

The meeting was also attended by PSL Chief Executive Officer Salman Naseer and Chief Operating Officer Sameer Syed. During the session, Naqvi reviewed the valuation findings and asked several key questions regarding the proposed franchise framework.

As reported by Observer Guardian, the PCB chairman instructed the valuation firm to hold direct meetings with all franchise owners to ensure transparency and mutual understanding before finalizing the agreements. He emphasized that the new deals will be based on the updated valuation report, with the chartered firm responsible for determining the fresh market value of each franchise.

The contracts of the six existing PSL franchises are set to expire in December, and the league is expected to expand to eight teams under the new structure.

According to Observer Guardian and PCB sources, the upcoming agreements will be offered only to franchises that meet the eligibility and compliance criteria set by the board.
