Numerous homes are submerged by the Swabi cloudburst, and rescue efforts are underway

Pakistan’s Swabi: According to Deputy Commissioner (DC) Nasrullah Khan’s confirmation on Sunday, a strong cloudburst in Swabi’s Dalori hamlet has caused flash floods and inundated several dwellings.

The deputy commissioner told Geo News that about 15 persons were carried away by the rushing waters. According to independent observers on the ground, families lost not only their houses but also their most important possessions in a matter of minutes, describing the devastation as devastating.

As stated by DC Nasrullah Khan, the cloudburst near Swabi produced a powerful flood that was made worse by the area’s steep topography, resulting in multiple landslides in various places. “The floodwater flow is very strong, which makes rescue work very difficult,” he said.

Rescue crews, government representatives, and aid organisations have already been sent to the impacted areas as part of the ongoing emergency response. Rescue crews from Haripur and Mardan have also been called in to support operations, the deputy commissioner continued.

Alongside government efforts, community guardians and relief volunteers have emphasised the critical necessity for displaced families to have access to food, shelter, and medical care. In order to stop more deaths, observers emphasised the importance of prompt action.

Environmental specialists are concerned about preparedness and disaster management plans in light of the Swabi tragedy, which emphasises Pakistan’s growing susceptibility to unexpected cloudbursts, flash floods, and landslides.
