A Retort to the mindless Propaganda

Most recently, one of the posts of Miryar Baloch on X (previously Twitter) published accused Pakistan of atrocities in terrorism and regional destabilization. Not only is this narrative misleading, but also it is a manipulative effort to cover up the facts and spoil the longstanding peace, regional stability and development initiatives by Pakistan. Pakistan has always been a responsible regional state and has also contributed a lot in fighting terrorism, dialogue as well as alleviating millions of people who have suffered because of regional conflicts. This is a wholesome rejoinder to the baseless assertions.

Kashmir: A Moral and Diplomatic Stand: Point of View

Ever since it came into existence, Pakistan has supported the people of Jammu and Kashmir in their fair fight to be given the right to self-determination. It is not some kind of a hidden agenda but a moral and diplomatic stand upon the resolution of the United Nations Security Council, which categorically demands a plebiscite in Kashmir. However, it was India, which did not keep its promise to the people of Kashmir and the world. The formation of Balochistan into Pakistan was a matter of political concession and legal agreement between the leader of the region. Balochistan is now an organic province of the federation and Pakistan is in the process of tackling the development concerns of the province. Infrastructural development, schools, universities and health facilities are planned on large scale to improve the province and strength its citizens.

Lessons of the past: the 1971 tragedy

The happenings in the year 1971 are a bitter event in the history of Pakistan and it had indeed several players and got the interference of the outside world. But Pakistan has developed into a progressive nation that is pluralistic in nature, and that values religious and cultural diversity. There is no positive value for reviving this tragedy in a bid to cast aspersion. The attention has shifted to reconciliation, development and peace.

Helping Jordan: A Matter of Regional Concern

In addition, the support of Pakistan to Jordan was because of request by the Jordanian government during the period of civil unrest. That was an act of fraternity and geopolitical duty and not interference. The misinterpretation of this act as one of aggression only misrepresents the facts as well as the history during which Pakistan offered its support.

The accusations that have been leveled against Pakistan regarding sponsorship of terror are not only untrue but are equally degrading to the lives lost by the people of Pakistan.

Allied effort in Global War on Terror

Pakistan was fighting shoulder by shoulder with the United States against the global war on terror and the NATO. Through this, Pakistan incurred unspeakable monetary losses as well as casualties more than any other non-NATO ally. Doubting the sincerity or loyalty of Pakistan overlooks the joint impulse of those days and the common sacrifices of that time.

Pakistan is a sensible nuclear state. It has a strong command and control over its strategic assets that match international standards. Where Pakistan never resorted to irresponsible use of its nuclear power, some countries resorted to the use of nuclear posturing as intimidation. It has remained loyal to non-proliferation and stability in the region.

Balochistan development and progress

Balochistan is not under-developed as the thinking goes but it is the heart of Pakistan development. CPEC will change the area and offer employment, access, and social improvement. A lot of schools, hospitals, road, and energy projects are coming up in the province. Those enemies of Balochistan are the ones who derail these initiatives to ensure continued narration of the story of deprivation to serve their political interests.

It is time to Face the Fact

The history and the present day activities of Pakistan tells a lot on the intentions of the country towards peace, development and regional cooperation. And the propaganda that is being propagated by people such as Miryar Baloch is purely based on politics not based on facts and that is also to tarnish the reputation of Pakistan internationally.

It is to deny these unwarranted charges and restate the determination to be a positive presence in the region. The international community should now understand that it is time to stop looking at Pakistan as the bearer of instability, but rather as a team member in the struggle towards peace and prosperity.
