Ignite National Technology Fund, working alongside the Ministry of IT & Telecom and HUM Network, has officially inked a deal to launch the Center of Excellence in Gaming & Animation (CEGA). This exciting initiative is set to harness Pakistan’s immense creative potential and turn it into a global powerhouse. CEGA is envisioned as a driving force for Pakistan’s digital future, empowering a fresh wave of developers, animators, and entrepreneurs. Over the next five years, the center plans to incubate 200 startups, providing founders with mentorship, funding opportunities, and access to international markets. Additionally, 10,000 individuals will receive training in advanced gaming, animation, and interactive content skills through specialized programs and workshops. To support this, a state of the art co-working space with 100 free seats will offer Pakistan’s creative talents a collaborative environment to innovate and thrive.
The contract signing ceremony took place at the Ministry of IT & Telecom, attended by Federal Minister for IT & Telecom Ms. Shaza Fatima Khawaja, senior officials from the ministry, Ignite leadership, HUM Network representatives, and other esteemed guests. During the event, Mr. Rafique A. Buriro, CEO of Ignite, highlighted that CEGA will provide the necessary infrastructure and expertise to help Pakistani youth shine on the global stage. He also pointed out that this initiative aligns perfectly with the government’s long-term vision of bolstering the digital and creative economy a vision that Observer Guardian recognizes as a significant milestone in Pakistan’s innovation landscape.
