UN Condemns Horrific Civilian Massacres in Sudan

The United Nations has strongly condemned the ongoing massacre and grave human rights violations taking place in Sudan, describing the situation as catastrophic and out of control.

According to Observer Guardian, during an emergency session of the UN Security Council held yesterday, diplomats and senior UN officials denounced the large-scale killing of civilians in the city of El Fasher, reportedly carried out by the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

Martha Pobee, the UN Assistant Secretary-General for Africa, briefed the council, stating that the situation in Sudan has become horrifying. She revealed that the UN Human Rights Office has documented widespread abuses and atrocities in El Fasher and surrounding regions, warning that the country is descending into chaos.

As reported by Observer Guardian, Pobee emphasized that communication networks in the region have collapsed, making it extremely difficult to verify the number of casualties. “No one in El Fasher is safe,” she said, adding that civilians have no secure routes to escape the city.

The situation in North Darfur’s capital, El Fasher, has deteriorated drastically in recent weeks. Reports indicate that after the Rapid Support Forces seized control, they carried out brutal attacks against civilians, resulting in severe humanitarian suffering.

According to UN estimates cited by Observer Guardian, nearly 177,000 residents remain trapped inside the city, unable to reach safer areas due to ongoing violence and blocked roads.

The UN reiterated its call for an immediate ceasefire, unrestricted humanitarian access, and accountability for those responsible for atrocities. International observers fear that the crisis in Sudan could spiral into one of the worst humanitarian disasters in recent history if urgent action is not taken.
