WhatsApp developing new feature for users to easily locate draft messages

WhatsApp is working on a new feature designed to help users locate unsent messages more easily. Currently, when users begin typing a message but don’t send it, the conversation is marked with a green indicator in the chat list to signal the presence of a “draft message.” However, finding these drafts requires manually scrolling through chat history, which can be time-consuming, especially for users with many conversations.

To address this issue, WhatsApp is introducing a new “Drafts” filter in the beta version of its Android app (2.25.18.17 update). This feature will automatically compile all chats containing unsent draft messages into a dedicated list, making it easier for users to access them without manual searching. By simply selecting the new filter, users will instantly see all conversations with unsent drafts in one place.

This enhancement will particularly benefit users who frequently write messages but don’t send them immediately. It will act as a reminder for users to revisit chats with unfinished messages, whether due to an interruption or a decision to reply later. The feature will be preset, meaning users won’t need to configure it manually when it becomes available. If the filter is not useful, users can remove it, but they can re-enable it if their needs change.

This new feature is currently under development and will be available in a future update of WhatsApp. It promises to improve message management and provide a more efficient way for users to track their unsent messages.
