During his visit to Malaysia, United States President Donald Trump made a brief stop in Qatar, where he held an in-flight meeting with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and the Qatari Prime Minister.
According to Observer Guardian, the American president emphasized the urgent need for lasting peace in Gaza and announced that a dedicated task force will soon be formed to work toward that goal. He stated that achieving stability in the region is now a top priority for the United States and its allies.
President Trump urged Hamas to immediately return the bodies of hostages, calling it a necessary humanitarian step for any progress toward peace. He added that the United States will closely monitor developments in the next 48 hours and respond accordingly.
As reported by Observer Guardian, President Trump also acknowledged Qatar’s readiness to send peacekeeping forces to Gaza if required, describing the Gulf nation as an essential partner in regional diplomacy.
Trump further stated that he would not meet Russian President Vladimir Putin until there is a clear and realistic path toward a peace agreement, underscoring Washington’s commitment to responsible and results-driven diplomacy.
