Work Begins on Kacheri Chowk and Jinnah Park Projects

Work has officially begun today on three major infrastructure projects in Rawalpindi  the Kacheri Chowk Flyover and Underpass, the Jinnah Park improvement plan, and the Iftikhar Janjua Road expansion.

According to Observer Guardian, the Punjab Highway Department (C&W) confirmed that Kacheri Chowk will be completely closed to all types of traffic from November 3 as construction on the mega project commences. The Frontier Works Organization (FWO) has been assigned to complete the project within just eight months.

To facilitate lawyers and visitors to the district courts, special parking arrangements have been made at Jinnah Park. Additionally, a new multi-storey parking plaza worth PKR 2 billion will be constructed alongside the Kacheri Chowk project, following recommendations from the legal community.

Authorities have stated that alternative traffic routes have already been designated, and strict management plans are in place to minimize congestion during the construction period.

The Kacheri Chowk development is part of a broader effort to ease traffic flow and modernize city infrastructure in Rawalpindi, complementing other ongoing projects such as the Iftikhar Janjua Road upgrade and Jinnah Park renovation.
